How do you reach the region?

The Region can be easily reached by car, train, airplane or boat. What is best for you depends on your specific circumstances and needs. Here are some tips.

 

Flying

Amsterdam Schiphol and Düsseldorf (Germany) are the two nearest international airports.
Eindhoven Airport or  Weeze (Germany) are the two most practical airports for European flights. After the flight, you can either go by train, shuttle or bus to you destination in the Region. Information on this type of transport can be found on the airports' web sites.

 

Train

An excellent way of travelling to Arnhem Nijmegen Cool Region is by train. The region has a large number of railway stations. Larger railway stations often allow you to travel to smaller ones.

Arnhem

The city centre is only a five minute walk from the station. Besides Arnhem central station the city also has the Presikhaaf, Velperpoort (west of the centre) and Arnhem-zuid stations.

Nijmegen

Nijmegen central station is also not very far from the city centre. Other train stations are in Lent (north Nijmegen), Heyendaal (Radbouduniversity and hospitals) and Dukenburg (south Nijmegen).

Other train stations

Other train stations are located in the municipality of Duiven (Duiven Station), Mook-Molenhoek (Mook-Molenhoek Station), Over-Betuwe (Elst and Zetten-Andelst Stations), Renkum (Wolfheze Station), Rheden (Rheden, Dieren and Velp Stations), Wijchen (Wijchen Station), and Zevenaar (Zevenaar Station).

 

Car

Arnhem Nijmegen Cool Region can be easily reached by car. Arnhem city is connected to the A12 motorway and Nijmegen to the A73. The A325 motorway connects the two cities of Nijmegen and Arnhem. These cities are also located near the A50 and A15 motorways.

Traffic-jams

Please keep in mind that you may encounter tailbacks in the morning and evening rush hours, especially in the vicinity of all the bridges in the Region. The Verkeersinformatiedienst [traffic information service. Dutch only] and ANWB [Dutch AA, Dutch only] web sites provide up-to-date information in this respect.
