Zorg 2.0: the first congress for and by healthcare professionals
The Acute Care Region East and the University Medical Centre UNC St Radboud are organising the first Care 2.0 Congress. It is to be a gathering with an interactive programme about the possibilities the Internet can hold for the care sector for and by healthcare professionals.
The Internet shows great promise for the healthcare sector
Something is stirring in the health service, both on the side of the care
providers and on the side of the patient. Adequate provision of information is therefore
of crucial importance. And now, more than ever before, both patients and their environment
are seeking and finding health related information on the Internet. On the
other hand, many healthcare professionals are unaware of how and to what extent
patients browse for information, and the digital highway has not integrated
into their system as yet.
The Internet offers a world of chances and possibilities to respond better to
the patient’s need and to share knowledge more efficiently. Think of the
possibilities that weblogs, online communities, Twitter, podcasts, vodcasts,
RSS feeds and LinkedIn hold for exchanging information and experiences, or even
for simplifying actions, such as admissions to hospitals.
The Zorg 2.0 Congress will be held on March 24, 2009.
