Revival of the Middle Ages during the eighth Nijmegen Tower Day
Towers play a decisive role in the appearance of a city. This is seen at a single glance by anyone who looks at the city of Nijmegen from the ‘other side’ of the Waal or from the Ooijpolder. The Nijmegen towers tell the eventful history of the oldest city of the Netherlands.
This year again the Nijmegen Tower Day is centred around the Van Limburg Brothers Festival. Not only are all historical towers open to the public for free during the Nijmegen Tower Day; there are also various activities held in a medieval style and all guides and artists wear medieval garments. In this way the Nijmegen Tower Day seamlessly links up with the medieval Van Limburg Brothers Festival. The Nijmegen Tower Day is held at Sunday 30 August 2009 from 1.00 p.m. till 5.00 p.m.
