RBT KAN aims at road trips with “Cool Breaks” campaign
Cool Breaks is the name of the new campaign with which The Regional Bureau Tourism (RBT KAN) wants to take on new European Markets.
Short Breaks
Together with German partner organisation 2-Land the RBT KAN will aim at ‘short breaks’ holidays for tourists from the Netherlands, Germany and World Cities such as London, Barcelona, Stockholm and Milan. It isn’t a coincidence that from these cities Ryanair flies to Airport Weeze.
Ryanair and Weeze
For a moment it looked as though there was going to be a hitch: Ryanair had threatened to leave Weeze, due to a German court order. The court order stated that after 11 PM no flights could take place. The Bezirkunsregierung in Düsseldorf acted swiftly to amend the airports’ license and thus the danger was quickly averted.
Cool Breaks
Cool Breaks aims at the Dutch Randstad, the German Rühr conurbations and the border regions themselves. For this ICE-trains, ferry-services and car holidays are very important. The campaign itself, which will cost two million euros and last three years, will also have to bring in more tourists to Northeast-Brabant, Northern-Limburg and Niederrhein.
