Fruit Exposition at ’t Olde Ras Museum in Doesburg
Bleke Bet. Sijden Hemdje. Roomsche Griet. Doesn't it ring a bell? These are all old Dutch apple varieties which you can taste in the village of Doesburg soon! ’t Olde Ras (lit. the old variety) in Doesburg is due to hold the fruit exposition ‘Verleden tot Heden’ (From past to Present) on 7 and 8 November. At the exposition about 1000 old fruit varieties will be on display – all labeled by name. In addition, many traditional fruit growing tools will be exhibited.
Visitors will have the opportunity to try many varieties, which allows them to rediscover or be introduced to the tastes of days long gone by. The fruits of a number of old varieties will be offered for sale.
