First Cool Region LEGO League
The Benelux finals of the First Lego League (FLL) will take place at the HAN University Arnhem-Nijmegen in January 2010. The finals will be organised jointly by the Foundation for Technology Promotion and the Knowledge Centre for Science and Technology. The theme of this edition is Smart Move, Transform Transport.
First Lego League (FLL) is a contest to challenge youngsters of the age of 9 to 14 to look into the role that science and technology has in society by giving them various assignments. The assignments will have a different theme every year.
The assignments are:

Design, build and program a robot. The teams design, program and build a fully autonomous robot using the LEGO MINDSTORMS® system with Robolab or RIS (Robotics Invention System) software.

Conduct your own research and present the results. Each team carries out research into the role that technology plays in society, and presents the results during the finals.
International
Over 135,000 children in 45 countries including North America, Singapore, England, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, China, the Netherlands and South Africa participated in 2008/2009. The winner of the Benelux finals will enter the world finals. You can enter your name with the First Lego League via the website Stichting Techniekpromotie before April 1, 2009.
