expired
The Arnhem Open-air Museum is one of the five Dutch museums that have been nominated for the Museum award 2009.
The Arnhem Open-air Museum has been located at rural estate De Waterberg in Arnhem for almost 100 years. It is a special 'park museum' in that it gives the impression of time standing still and at the same time has renewed itself continually. It is this constant renewal of the museum which brought it the title of 'European Museum of the Year' in 2005 and which now has caused it to be nominated for the Museum Award 2009. The winner of the Museum Award 2009 gets special honours and is awarded an amount of EUR 100,000.
