Creative and committed cross-pollination
(Almost) everything is possible in MIT Media Lab. Key words are creativity and personal involvement. But what do we need to achieve this? MIT students visited HAN University within the frame of an exchange programme and took HAN students along on a journey between fantasy and technology. The central theme was: ‘How to create almost anything!’ Read all there is about HAN’s and MIT’s cross-pollination here.
Interview with Jay Silver
In his own film, Jay Silver tells about the workshop he ran with HAN students. He shows a self-designed instrument which produces sounds when it is connected to every-day objects and to people.
Scratch Workshop
‘Scratch’ is a slang term and represents the music mix created by hip hop artists. It is also the name of a new programming language with which children can easily mix their own interactive stories, animations, games, music and art. Your creations can be shared on the Web. The photo report below shows the workshop on Scratch organised by MIT students at HAN University.
Workshop on PicoCrickets and logo chips
PicoCricket is as easy as Lego and as powerful as a micro controller. A PicoCricket is a small computer which makes objects spin, light up and play music. MIT takes us to the wonderful world of PicoCrickets and logo chips.
Final presentations
The final result of the cross-pollination between MIT and HAN is brilliant. No talk, only images and a video. The exchange was coloured with passion, enjoyment, agreement and meaning.
