Knowledge enhancement at HAN Automotive
Thanks to a special government arrangement, HAN-automotive has ‘all of a sudden’ nineteen more high-qualified staff members. This arrangement involves that companies suffering from financial trouble are given financial support by the government so as to allow to them to second their researchers to some expertise centre.
The first nine of these seconded staff members joined the Vehicle Mechatronics Research Group on Monday 14 September. In this research group, they will explore the application of fuel cell technology in passenger cars as part of the H2Ancar-project. ‘They will assist their colleagues with the further development of sustainable vehicles. Their assistance will also help to further develop HAN's sustainability objectives’, said lecturer Bram Veenhuizen enthusiastically. ‘Although these staff members mainly function as researchers dealing with matters like design requirements of fuel cell vehicles, their expertise on specific automotive techniques also makes them useful as teachers. Our aim is to actively involve them in several classes, which will allow students to experience what is really going on in the daily practice of automotive. This is reinforcement with additional staff members is an enormous gain. If there is still anything left to wish for, it would be some more money for buying hardware. Mr Veenhuizen is expecting three more expert workers. The other seven workers will join the Mobility Technology Research Group.
