Burgers' Rimba, a taste of the tropics in Arnhem
Malaysian bears are looking for honey, siamangs are swinging high up in the trees, reticulated pythons of up to 2 meters in length are hiding somewhere on the ground, and suddenly you find yourself face to face with a Sumatran tiger!
Since 14 May 2008, Burgers’ Zoo has a brand new animal project located on two hectares: Burgers’ Rimba. ‘Rimba’ is short for ‘rimba raya’, which is Malaysian for ‘tropical rainforest’. Apes, deer, cattle, tigers, snakes, monitor lizards and the Malaysian bear can then be seen in their own living environment.
