If you want to enjoy Modern Art at one of the most fantastic locations in the Netherlands, the Museum voor Moderne Kunst [Museum for Modern Art] in Arnhem (MMKA) is thé place to go. Beautifully located on top of a lateral moraine, it offers a fantastic view on the banks of the river Rhine and is within walking distance from Arnhem central railway station. The Museum’s collection is very diverse and renowned for the major collection of works by the group of Dutch painters called Magic Realists [Magisch Realisten].
This collection includes works by Carel Willink, Dick Ket and other Dutch contemporary artists. In addition, the MMKA owns and shows a superb collection of modern works of art.
The museum organizes nearly a dozen temporary exhibitions every year. After wandering through the museum’s galleries you can enjoy refreshments in the museum café or on the terrace which offers a great view of the sculpture garden and the river.
