Burgers' Zoo
Burgers' Zoo in the Netherlands is a very large zoo. It has is a completely covered 1,5 ha tropical rainforest where hundreds of animals live freely among thousands of tropical plants. Burger’s Desert is a rock desert area with giant cactuses and unusual desert animals. In Burger’s Ocean, the visitor makes a dry dive into the tropical seas of South East Asia, with its many corals, colourful coral fish, sharks and thornbacks. Burger’s Safari shows a, East African savannah landscape, with herds of zebra, giraffe, antelope, and even rhinoceros, lions and cheetahs.
Burger’s Zoo also holds several colonies of chimpanzees, as well as gorillas, panthers and elephants. The new Burger’s Rimba opened in 2008, a trail leading you along various animal species native to Malaysia, like tigers, bears, monkeys, monitor lizards and deer. And last but not least, there are several restaurants and a spacious playground! Burger’s Zoo is open to the public throughout the year.
