‘Love in Wartime’: Butterflies in the Stomach in the 1940s
World War II has influenced the love life of a whole generation. They got – as always – butterflies in the stomach: in the air-raid shelter, the place of hiding, or just in the street. The exhibition ‘Love in Wartime’ shows how people managed to survive in dire conditions, and how feelings can break through everything. Indeed, what is ‘good’ and what is ‘wrong’ when love is concerned.

Disc Jockeys, Summer Screen & Night Dancing
LUX will entertain lavishly during this Annual Four Day Walking Event! Get in the mood with record players, free music in the pavement café from 7 to 10 in the evening. We will start showing films on the open-air Summer Screen at about 10 pm. For the first time, Lux will mainly show short films. But even for the late hours Lux will be the right place for the night dancing event. This means ‘feet to the floor’, from midnight to 4 am!
Do a lap through the Netherlands
The Lap through the Netherlands is a running event for young and old. The venue for the walking event is the Dutch Open Air Museum. There is a 5km and a 10km lap leading through and beyond the grounds of the Open Air Museum. The track consists of one or two laps of 5km.

Film Showing of ‘Krieg am Niederrhein’
The National Liberation Museum 1944-1945 will show a series of films about the classic ‘Krieg am Niederrhein’ film in February and March 2009. The film is in the German language and is not subtitled. This year marks the 64th anniversary of the Rhineland Offensive: a massive attack by the Allies on Rhineland launched from the Dutch-German border area.

Jan Jansen and Swip Stolk – two master designers
From February 7 to August 30, Museum Het Valkhof will be the stage for two master designers of international renown: the famous shoe designer Jan Jansen (Nijmegen, 1941) and the trend-setting designer Swip Stolk (Zaandam, 1944). They have met regularly in the creative process for forty years.

Windows on Arnhem’s Past
The inspiration for the exhibition 'Windows on the Past’ held in the historic museum of Arnhem was the recent publication of "The Canon of Arnhem" by historians Bob Roelofs and Jan de Vries. The Canon contains 40 'windows' which deal with important historic figures and events in the last 2000 years of Arnhem’s history.
