Potential without fancy airs
Arnhem Nijmegen Cool Region has ambition in abundance. In 2020, the region aims to be the best Dutch economic region after Amsterdam/Rotterdam. That is not far-fetched, as Arnhem Nijmegen Cool Region has full potential to achieve it.
For one, the strategic location of the urban region is a plus as it lies
in the centre of the Randstad agglomeration, the Flemish Rhombus, and the Ruhr
area. The high-speed train will take you to important European cities in about
an hour, the two busiest navigation lanes of Europe cut through the urban
region and there is an extensive road system. The railway through the Betuwe is
an important link for the transhipping goods between the Rotterdam delta and
the Ruhr area. Airport Weeze in Germany is at only 50 kilometre distance.
The sophisticated infrastructure offers national and international economic
activities a solid base for a good economic climate for establishing a
business. Moreover, the urban region counts more highly educated residents than
average in the Netherlands, and just as many residents with secondary education.
And not less important: a clean and pleasant living environment, a particularly
varied landscape and many recreational and cultural extras.

The additional sum of all potentials: an urban region that could rival
the other regions seriously. The economic ambition of Arnhem Nijmegen Cool
Region is therefore not far fetched. On the contrary: if the authorities, the
educational institutes and the entrepreneurs join forces like they do in Arnhem
Nijmegen Cool Region, this ambition Is sure to succeed.
