The municipalities in the Liemers belonging to Cool Region are Duiven, Westervoort and Zevenaar.
The A12 zone
The most important
industrial estate of Cool Region is located in Liemers. Large, high-grade
enterprises opt for establishing their business in the zone along the A12 motorway, which is a European major
transport axis. Especially businesses in logistics, trade and commercial
services feel at home here. Preference is given to nice locations along the A12
in grandstand view of the traffic.
Arnhem Nijmegen
Cool Region intends to make the so-called A12 zone its
showpiece. Until 2020, a
net area of 135
hectares of industrial land will be issued to the north
of the existing industrial park Centerpoort and south of the A12 on the east
side of the Zevenaar-Didam railway. Twenty hectares will be allotted to
companies in the heaviest environmental category (5) on industrial estate
Roelofshoeve 2 near Duiven.
The A12 zone will be set up as a high-quality area.
A nice ‘gateway’ to Arnhem Nijmegen
Cool
Region will be the 7Poort industrial estate near Zevenaar,
which is also located along the A12 motorway. 7Poort has four subareas: North, South,
Landeweer and Spoorallee. Every subarea has its own character and function. The
industrial estate measures 90
hectares and the new railway station Zevenaar East is at
walking distance. 7Poort is a sustainable innovative industrial estate with
excellent facilities, such as park management and fibreglass services.
Agriculture
The agricultural sector in Cool Region concentrates on three subareas. One is Duivense Broek to the north of the A12 motorway. Space for agriculture is also set aside in Overbetuwe and near Beuningen. Agriculture reinforces the surrounding landscape in Cool Region while the need for recreation is also taken into account.
