Gelderse Poort

 The municipalities of Millingen aan de Rijn and Rijnwaarden are both located in Gelderse Poort.

The municipality of Rijnwaarden, which is situated north of the River Rhine, will get a new harbour for night stops between the villages of Tolkamer and Spijk because the port of refuge near Tuindorp has become too small. Rijnwaarden has also an industrial estate near the harbour. There are plenty of possibilities for establishing a business for river-related economic activities.

The municipality of Rijnwaarden has four brickworks producing together 15% of the Dutch bricks. Tolkamer has accommodated shipyard De Hoop from way back. The brickyards and the shipyard also resulted in the establishment of machine works.
