Do you want to set up a business in Arnhem Nijmegen Cool Region? Here are some useful things to know and some addresses.


The big three

When you set up a business, you will be faced with the following three organisations: the bank, the Chamber of Commerce and the Tax Authorities. All major Dutch banks have offices in Arnhem Nijmegen Cool Region. Some banks are more consumer oriented but in general all banks welcome businesses.

Chamber of Commerce is the place for all your business questions. Here you will find guidance and training courses for both start-ups as well as established companies. They can also provide you with economic information about the region. The Dutch Commercial Registers Act contains the regulations for the Chamber of Commerce as an independent organisation. All companies in the Netherlands need to register their company in the public trade register. Another statutory obligation of the Chamber of Commerce is the legalisation of signatures for various trade documents.

All new companies need to register with the Tax and Customs Administration. Companies need to regularly fill in tax declarations and will receive tax assessments. This is essential for determining what taxes and premiums companies must pay and how much. Companies have to pay turnover tax (VAT), salaries tax and social insurance contributions.

All of the most important Dutch employers’ and employees’ organisations have an office in Arnhem Nijmegen Cool Region. The VNO-NCW Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers is the largest organisation for companies in the Netherlands. Click here for the regional office. Grants
